Why Professor Love Monkey
College search is a pile of rankings, sticker prices, admit rates, majors, and weekend drives that do not talk to each other. We built a household tool that turns that pile into two things you can act on: a scored shortlist, and an efficient visit plan.
The job
Parents and students should not need a counselor to sort this. You already know the student. What you need is a way to hold thousands of campuses in one place, say what matters, and see a ranked list that is yours — not US News, not a magazine, not a counselor’s favorite list.
Then you need a plan. The list is not the product if it still costs you three wasted fly-in weekends. Professor Love Monkey clusters the schools you actually care about into realistic loops so you spend Saturdays on campus, not on I-85.
Three numbers, never mixed
Families distrust a single number that mixes “you’ll get in” with “you’ll be happy.” We keep them apart on purpose.
- Fit sorts The List before anyone visits. Size, setting, cost, academics, and distance — weighted by you.
- Admit odds stay a badge: Likely, Match, or Possible, from GPA and SAT. They never hijack the ranking.
- Love Monkey score is after the tour — what the student felt on campus. The visit report ranks by this, not by Fit.
Free vs Family Season Pass
Free should prove the scoring model works. The Family Season Pass is for the plan you keep — $49 paid once, good for one full year, not a subscription, and it does not renew. One household can run multiple scenarios for multiple children. The engine does not change when you pay.

What you get
- A national pool of colleges and universities, with community colleges as an opt-in nearby layer.
- A map of states, plus filters for school type, religious life, degree programs, size, and setting.
- Tuition and room & board on each school card, with net-price context when you share an income band.
- Sensitivity as you filter — how many schools stay in play, and what a tighter preference would cut.
- A shortest-path visit plan with miles, order, and a direct link to each campus’s tour scheduler.
- After the tour, a Love Monkey score from what you felt on campus, then a report you can keep.
- Export the route to Google Maps. Save lists, routes, and reports to one family account.
Who it is for
One household, one Family Season Pass, one full year. The buyer is the parent. You can run a different scenario for each child — change the transcript, filters, and list, then save another trip. Not a subscription: you pay once, it does not renew. You can start as a guest to see the model work, then sign in to keep the workspace across devices.
